Itinerary: October 2, 2022 Sunday
Depart. Enjoy a a stop at the Lewis Ginter Botanic Garden, chosen by the Travel Channel as one of the “Best Botanical Gardens in the U.S.” Enjoy a day surrounded by beautiful gardens, while being immersed in science and history. With over 50 spectacular acres to tour, a visit to the Gar-den is a memorable experience Overnight in Lumberton, NC. Dinner included this evening. (D)
October 3, 2022 Monday
Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel before we check out and head towards Charleston. We’ll stop at Moncks Corner for a southern style lunch and then visit the Cypress Gardens. While you enjoy the picturesque views along walking paths which loop through the swamp and gardens you may rec-ognize the spot of some of your favorite films, including The Notebook, The Patriot, Swamp Thing and more. You can also visit the Swampariun and the Butterfly House. Check into our downtown hotel. Enjoy a carriage ride & tour of Historic Charleston, “ The Holy City” is steeped in history, culture and beauty. Next we’ll enjoy a local dinner. (B, L, D)

Enjoy breakfast at the Hotel. The day is yours to explore as you like. Your hotel is right in the heart of the Historic district. You can take a walking tour or horse drawn carriage tour, you may choose to explore on your own, you are steps from the swanking King Street Shopping area, The Battery, The Markets, Historic Homes and venues to tour and so many beautiful parks and views with some of the best restaurants and food mixed in on every street. Enjoy breakfast at the Hotel. Today we’ll travel the tree lined 61 to Magnolia Plantation—Step back in time with a half-hour guided tour of the Drayton family home. The current main House – the core of which was built prior to the Revolutionary War near Summerville, South Carolina and floated down the Ashley River to Magnolia after the Civil War — gives a glimpse of plantation life in the 19th century and beyond. You also have time to explore the beautiful grounds and gar-dens as you like. Next we’ll depart for Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens. Enjoy a box lunch en route to the next stop. Boone Hall Plantation was founded in 1681 when Englishman Major John Boone came to Charleston and established a lucrative plantation and gracious home on the banks of Wampacheone Creek. The family and descendants of Major Boone were influential in the his-tory of South Carolina, the colonies and the nation. The McRae family is proud to present that history, covering over 330 years, on a daily basis. Return to your Hotel and enjoy the evening on your own. (B, L)

Check out and depart for Savannah En route we’ll stop and visit the Charleston Tea Plantation for a trolley tour through the tea fields of America’s only tea farm You can see hundreds of thousands of tea bushes stretching out acre after acre for almost as far as the eye can see. The Bigelow family, William Barclay Hall and the staff of the plantation stand ready to bring you the tea experience of your life. Located on pictur-esque Wadmalaw Island in the heart of the low country just a few miles south of the historic city of Charleston. In route to our hotel we will stop at the famous Angel Oak Tree. The Angel Oak Tree is estimated to be in excess of 400-500 years old, stands 66.5 ft tall, measures 28 ft in cir-cumference. Upon arrival in Savannah we’ll check into your hotel located in the heart of the His-toric District. Today enjoy a guided tour of Historic Savannah, view the stately mansions and hanging Spanish moss, this is what inspired countless books and movies. Learn how British General James Edward Oglethorpe established Georgia's First City on a natural bluff by the Savannah River. You will hear about what has shaped Savannah into a place known both as one of the most romantic and most haunted cities in America. See Davenport House, Forsyth Park, the world-famous River Street, City Market and the Pirates House. We’ll enjoy Lunch at Debi’s before we depart towards home. Overnight in Fayetteville, NC (B,L)
