Itinerary: June 13, 2023 Tuesday
Morning departures with a rest stop en route. Today we’ll travel to Port Clinton, OH, where we’ll board the Ferry to Put in Bay Island, Nicknamed “Key West of the North” for its island vibes and Caribbean feel. Here you will enjoy a group luncheon and Island Tram tour with a little free time in ‘downtown’ area. We’ll board the ferry back to the ’mainland’ and check into a nearby hotel for the evening and a local dinner. (L, D)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, before departing toward Mackinac Island. There will be a rest/ lunch stop en route. Upon arrival in Mackinaw City we will board the Ferry to transport us to the Mackinac Island –Where time stands still. All transportation is via horse-drawn carriages or bicycles. You will be introduced to the Island on your carriage tour. This 90 minute tour will take you up to Surrey Hill, through the State Park and to the scenic view at Arch Rock. After-wards, check into the Historic Murray Hotel, located in the heart of all downtown, you are steps away from Restaurants, Bars, Shops and more. This evening is yours to do as you please. (B)
Enjoy breakfast at the Resort. You have time to do as you please today. You could rent a bike and go around the entire island this very flat waterside ride is spectacular and easy. You might choose to head up to Fort Mackinac, restored to its 1880s glory, Fort Mackinac has fourteen original buildings featuring diverse exhibits on such topics as the history of medical care and life of the Victorian soldier or you might explore the many paths and sights on the island. Work up an appetite as this afternoon you have lunch at Grand Hotel. This famous Luncheon Buffet is sure to give you the energy you need for more exploring this afternoon or you may choose to relax on the Grand’s 660-foot-long porch and stroll that hotel’s flower gardens. The evening is yours to do as you please. (B, L)
Enjoy breakfast at the Resort. We have a 9AM Ferry back to Mackinaw City. Here we’ll board our coach and depart for Cleveland. We make a meal/ rest stop en route and arrive in Cleveland to check into our hotel and freshen up before our evening sunset dinner cruise on Lake Erie. On board the Nautica Queen you will enjoy the best of Cleveland dining and sightseeing. Experience the city in a whole new way with extraordinary views of the bridges and coastline of Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River and get your fill with a deluxe dinner buffet. (B, D)
